DESCRIPTION:The Religious Education Committee is pleased to announce a new 
 adult education course that will meet monthly\, beginning October 28\, fro
 m 10-11 am on Sundays. Ann Heintz and Dan McKanan will lead this course. W
 e will begin with a broad overview of Unitarian Universalist history\, usi
 ng Dan McKanan’s essay on that topic in the UU Pocket Guide. Participant
 s will then identify three or four specific topics they’d like to explor
 e in more depth—both as they played out in our movement as a whole and i
 n our own congregation and its precursors. We will look especially for top
 ics that will allow us to engage the messy history underlying contemporary
  challenges such as white supremacy. In the spring\, finally\, we will wor
 k together to explore\, and perhaps organize\, the congregational archives
  in our attic.\n\nIndividuals who would like to participate should contact
  Dan McKanan by October 25 to obtain a copy of the text for the first meet
 ing. (Paper copies will be available on October 18\, and electronic copies
  can be provided by email.) We will schedule subsequent meetings based on 
 the schedules of the participants\, taking care NOT to schedule meetings o
 n those Sundays when the choir is rehearsing in the 10 am timeslot.
