Vision Retreat

Event Type

The UUCM Vision Task Force is inviting YOU to a retreat on Saturday, December 7 at the church. The exact time yet to be determined.  We are pleased to announce that we will be engaging Reverend Liz Magill to help facilitate the meeting.  (This is a revised date – we had initially thought it might be November 2).

There are two questions to be addressed at the retreat.

As you probably know, this church year we are operating as a completely lay-directed congregation, without a paid staff minister.

So the first goal of the retreat is to decide, as a community, about whether to hire a professional to share in the ministry of this church beginning next fall, and what activities that person would undertake.  There are various options to consider, and the discussion will be influenced by various factors such as the church’s financial resources and the pool of professionals available.

The second goal of the retreat is to begin a process of envisioning a sustainable future for this UU Medford community.  We will do some initial brainstorming that may include new ways to be organized as a church, fresh ways to be part of the Medford community, relationships with other religious organizations, different use of our buildings and properties, and who knows what else!  This will be an initial discussion to be continued beyond the retreat.

So please mark your calendar for Saturday, December 7 for the UUCM Envisioning Retreat and plan to attend this important meeting. Everyone who considers themselves part of this church community is welcome to attend.  More details to follow soon.
