DESCRIPTION:\nThe UUCM Vision Task Force is inviting YOU to a retreat on
  Saturday\, December 7 at the church. The exact time yet to be determine
 d.  We are pleased to announce that we will be engaging Reverend Liz Mag
 ill to help facilitate the meeting.  (This is a revised date - we had in
 itially thought it might be November 2).\n \nThere are two questions to b
 e addressed at the retreat.\nAs you probably know\, this church year we ar
 e operating as a completely lay-directed congregation\, without a paid sta
 ff minister. \n\nSo the first goal of the retreat is to decide\, as a c
 ommunity\, about whether to hire a professional to share in the ministry 
 of this church beginning next fall\, and what activities that person wou
 ld undertake.  There are various options to consider\, and the discussion
  will be influenced by various factors such as the church’s financial re
 sources and the pool of professionals available. \n\nThe second goal of 
 the retreat is to begin a process of envisioning a sustainable future fo
 r this UU Medford community.  We will do some initial brainstorming that 
 may include new ways to be organized as a church\, fresh ways to be part o
 f the Medford community\, relationships with other religious organizations
 \, different use of our buildings and properties\, and who knows what else
 !  This will be an initial discussion to be continued beyond the retreat.
 \n\nSo please mark your calendar for Saturday\, December 7 for the UUCM 
 Envisioning Retreat and plan to attend this important meeting. Everyone wh
 o considers themselves part of this church community is welcome to attend.
