Looking for a new Minister

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford is searching for a new part-time minister. We are looking for someone to lead Sunday services that are vibrant and meaningful. We also value a minister who is able to spend time with us during social hour (after every service) and can offer pastoral care. We realize that a part-time minister cannot do everything; as a result, we have given careful thought to our priorities and look forward to collaborating with our part-time minister as we continue our very successful practice of having lay-led and guest-led services and solid congregational governance. As a small congregation (a little more than 100 members), we are seeking a minister in a part-time position because we have made a commitment to live within our resources and we also like having a mix of professionally-led and lay-led services. At the same time, we are open to exploring ways to grow so we can increase the participation of a part-time minister as well as the hours of our Music Director and our Director of Religious Education, both of whom are outstanding.

Our covenant begins with the words “Love is the heart of this church” and that statement genuinely reflects who we are.  Our members and friends, along with our RE and Music Directors, support each other and our many spiritual paths in a variety of ways that include small groups, warm friendships, Sunday services, religious education for children and adults, social hour after church, meditation groups, and special events such as Family Dances, holiday parties, outdoor clean-up days, and potluck meals.  We have many dedicated members and friends of the church who serve on the committees, come to church regularly, lead Sunday services, inform the congregation when there is a sick member, sing in the choir, teach in our RE program, and volunteer in the Food Pantry located in our church.

We hope to hire a minister in a part-time position for about 13-19 hours per week in a 10-month contract.
