Dear UUCM Community:
Our profit total for the sale today is close to $3200!! Yippee! This is a few hundred less than the last two years but perfectly acceptable. Our sense is that we had less higher-price items for sale this year. Also, the flow of people was pretty steady throughout the day with less of a rush at 9 am and again at 10 am compared to last year.
There is still a very nice solid wood kitchen table available, if you know anyone who is interested. I may try Craigslist.
The Express Lane worked pretty well – at least when people read the sign. The clothes were very well organized this year which made it much easier for people to search for what they wanted. Pre-sorting into categories a week or two in advance helped relieve some of the pressure during the set-up days before the sale. The refreshment table was pretty well attended and the jewelry table continued to draw lots of attention.
Thanks to EVERYONE who helped to make the SALE a success!! Many, many people in our church community contributed – by donating, baking, sorting, pricing, cashing people out, spreading the word, cleaning-up, taking leftovers to a new home, etc. We could not have done it without YOU!
In Gratitude,
Lourie August
