Sunday Service: The Transient and the Permanent

Most Americans have heard Theodore Parker’s words (even if they don’t know his name) through the speeches of Lincoln, King, and Obama. We Unitarian Universalists remember him as a passionate abolitionist and Transcendentalist. Today we will take him as a starting point for exploring what is of lasting value in our faith tradition, as distinct from its time-bound expressions.
