Speaker: Leslie Sterling

Leslie Katherin Sterling (“AmmaLeslie”, she/her/hers) has lived in the Boston area since 1974, another one of those teens who came to New England for college and never left.  Her young adulthood was spent doing office work by day while singing and performing in bars and clubs all over New England by night. She also worked briefly as a sportswriter and sports broadcaster before finally giving in and answering her call to ministry in the early 1990s. In 2001 she was ordained in the Episcopal tradition after earning an M.Div. from Episcopal Divinity School. Over the years she developed a reputation for memorable preaching, teaching, and retreat leading. Through spoken and written political commentary and a willingness to stand up and be counted, AmmaLeslie spreads the word that people of faith have been involved in every progressive movement since before this country was founded, and we will never stop working together to bend the arc of the universe toward inclusive justice.
