Rev. Wendy Miller Olapade (MDiv, Boston University School of Theology, 1995) is a progressive pastor, community builder, and spiritual innovator rooted in the United Church of Christ. She brings a prophetic voice, a creative heart, and a deep commitment to justice and healing through spiritual community.
As the Lead Pastor of Sanctuary UCC in Medford, MA—an emergent, arts-infused faith community—Wendy nurtures inclusive spaces for transformation, collaboration, and deep connection. She is passionate about reimagining spiritual life through creative worship, sacred storytelling, and practices that meet people where they are.
Wendy is also a seasoned organizer and activist, with decades of experience working alongside interfaith partners, grassroots movements, and marginalized communities to advance equity, inclusion, and systemic change. Whether in the streets, at City Hall, or in sacred spaces, she is committed to faith that shows up, speaks out, and works to make love and justice real.
Grounded in over three decades of recovery and the spiritual wisdom of the 12 Steps, her life and ministry are shaped by grace, authenticity, and a fierce love for humanity. Wendy is also a lifelong lover of gospel and R&B music, visual and performing arts, deep dialogue, and sacred mischief.
She is the proud parent of two incredible humans, Alexander and Aaron—and above all, she strives to live a life infused with compassion, joy, and purpose.
