Welcome to the new UUCM church year!

Dear Beloved UUCM Community:

This September marks the beginning of an exciting new church year at UU Church of Medford.  In many ways, this will be a landmark year as we embrace being a fully lay-directed congregation and embark on a vision process to define our future.  We are glad you can be with us.

We kick off the church year on Sunday, September 8 with a Homecoming service at 11 am.  There will be a Water Communion where we share a bit of our summer through the symbol of water. Guest minister Rev. Hank Peirce will be leading the service.  Whomever you are, whomever you love, you are welcome.

The Worship Committee has done a wonderful job lining up leaders for Sunday services for the upcoming year, with an exciting roster of guest ministers, speakers, and members of the congregation leading services. Our Music Director, Sage Fogle, is working to bring new and varied music to our morning service, and the Children’s Program is gearing up for an exciting new year under the leadership of Mimi Olivier.

And of course, the UUCM Community is more than just Sunday Service.  We are offering numerous small group programs this fall that help us connect, nourishing our minds and our spirits. These programs include meditation groups, a monthly book group, Touchstone sharing groups, and a Peer Support Group. We are also planning social events – times to gather, share, and have fun together.

Finally, we need YOU!  We are a small, vibrant community with 3 part-time staff –so everything that happens at UUCM, including small group leadership, care of the buildings, planning of worship services, making Zoom happen, managing our finances, and coffee hour takes many hands…and hearts.  As we move ahead, we hope YOU can find a way to help our spiritual community flourish in the coming church year.

So stay tuned, come to church, attend a small group, participate as you can, and join in community with others – in support of our spiritual journeys and positive change in the world.

Yours Together,

Lourie August, Chair
