Join us for our Sunday Service, led by Rev. Lilia Cuervo and Janice Darling.
The Day of the Dead celebration is a fusion of the ancient Aztec tradition and European ancestors. It is traditionally celebrated in Central and South American cultures, especially in Mexico. For generations, these traditions have helped individuals and communities in their healing after the death of their beloveds, be they ancestors, family members, friends, or leaders. Rev. Cuervo will invite us to reflect on how we can also help assuage our grief by paying tribute to our beloved dead by preparing for our own death and for the death of the ones we love. Acknowledging death encourages us to live!
You are warmly invited to honor the loving remembrance of your beloved dead by bringing a picture or memento to place on the ofrenda and sharing a memory of that person. Children are also invited to bring a picture or memento of those they want to remember, including of beloved pets, and to participate in this ritual along with their parents.
Our service will be in person in our sanctuary. If you can’t join us in person, you are welcome to join via Zoom in one of the following ways:
